You just want to check out the Zettelstore software:
* Grab the appropriate executable and copy it to any directory
* Start the Zettelstore software, e.g. with a double click[^On Windows and macOS, the operating system tries to protect you from possible malicious software.
    If you encounter a problem, please refer to the [[Troubleshooting|00001018000000]] page.]
* A subdirectory named "zettel" will be created in the same directory as the executable.
  This folder will store your future zettels.
* Open the URI [[http://localhost:23123/|http://localhost:23123/]] in your web browser.
  You'll be greeted with a mostly empty Zettelstore interface, along with a ""[[Home|00010000000000]]"" zettel that contains some useful information.
* Please review the instructions for the [[web-based user interface|00001014000000]] to familiarize yourself with the different methods for creating and writing zettels.
* If you restart your device, be sure to launch Zettelstore again.
